FAQs
🏁Can I build my own custom PC?
Yes! contact us and one of our crew will work with you one on one to build the exact pc you are looking for.
🏁Can I tell you my games, monitors and budget and have you recommend a PC?
Absolutely. Tell us what games you play, what monitor setup you use, and what budget you want to stay within, and our Pit Crew can recommend the PC that best fits your needs.
For the best recommendation, let us know things like your main games, monitor resolution, number of monitors, whether you use VR, whether you stream or record gameplay, and your target budget.
Our goal isn’t to sell you the most expensive PC—we want to put you in the right PC for the way you actually play, with enough performance to enjoy it today and room to grow tomorrow.
Not sure where to start? Contact the PC Race Shop Pit Crew and we’ll help you build your perfect setup.
🏁Which PC Race Shop series is right for me?
We've made our lineup easier to understand by breaking it into three main collections:
**SPRINT — Get in the Race**
Our entry-level lineup for gamers who want dependable gaming performance and a great starting point without paying for performance they don't need.
**SPEEDWAY — The Sweet Spot**
Designed for gamers who want a strong balance of performance, reliability, and value. This is a great place to start for serious gaming and sim-racing setups.
**LAP — Chase the Podium**
Our top-tier lineup for gamers who want maximum performance and don't want to compromise when it comes to their gaming experience.
Still don't know which one you need? **Ask the Pit Crew. That's what we're here for.**
🏁What's the difference between Bronze, Silver, and Gold?
Think of it like moving through the field.
**Bronze** gives you a strong foundation and great gaming performance.
**Silver** steps up the horsepower for gamers who want additional performance and longevity.
**Gold** is for customers who want premium processing power and don't want to wonder whether they should have gone bigger.
You don't need Gold just because Gold exists. We'll help you choose the level that makes sense for the games and setup you actually use.
🏁I'm new to PC gaming. Can you help me?
Absolutely.
You don't need to understand processors, graphics cards, RAM timings, motherboard chipsets, or any of the other alphabet soup that comes with shopping for a gaming computer.
Tell us **what you want to do**, and we'll help figure out **what you need to do it**.
That's part of having a Pit Crew.
🏁I mainly play iRacing. Can you recommend a PC for me?
Absolutely.
When helping an iRacing customer, we'll want to know more than simply whether the computer can "run iRacing."
Tell us whether you're racing on:
* A single monitor
* An ultrawide monitor
* Triple monitors
* VR
* 1080p, 1440p, or 4K
* A system that will also be streaming or recording
Those details can dramatically change what hardware makes sense.
The goal isn't simply to get iRacing to launch. We want to build around the experience you're trying to create.
🏁What PC do I need for triple monitors?
That depends heavily on the resolution of those monitors, the games you're playing, and the performance you're expecting.
Three 1080p displays have very different demands than three 1440p displays.
Before buying, tell our Pit Crew your **monitor count, resolution, refresh rate, and primary games**, and we'll help match you with the appropriate system.
🏁Can your computers handle VR?
We offer systems equipped with VR-ready graphics hardware.
VR performance can vary significantly from one headset and game to another, however, so we recommend telling us which headset and games you're planning to use.
We'll help make sure you're looking at a PC appropriate for your setup rather than simply relying on a "VR Ready" sticker.
🏁Can I game and stream from the same PC?
Yes, but streaming adds additional workload to your system.
If you're planning to race or game while simultaneously streaming to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or another platform, **tell us before ordering**.
We'll take that additional workload into consideration when helping you choose your system.
🏁Do I need an expensive PC just to start sim racing?
Not necessarily.
Your PC should be matched to your actual setup and expectations.
Someone entering sim racing with one monitor may have very different hardware requirements than someone running triple high-resolution displays, VR, streaming software, telemetry, overlays, and additional racing applications.
**Buy for your race—not somebody else's spec sheet.**
🏁Why are PC Race Shop computers built to order?
Because race cars aren't pulled off a shelf—and neither are our PCs.
When you place your order, your PC is assembled specifically for your build rather than simply grabbing a finished machine that's been sitting in inventory.
That allows us to configure the system around the options you've selected and prepare the machine for its new owner.
**Built fresh. Built for you. Ready for the green flag.**
🏁Isn't built to order slower than buying a PC off the shelf?
It can take a little longer before your computer ships, but that's because we're building **your computer**, not shipping you whatever happens to be sitting in a warehouse.
We believe that's an advantage.
You're purchasing a machine assembled around your selected configuration instead of a mass-produced box that may have been sitting on a shelf waiting for a buyer.
**We don't warehouse finished PCs. We build yours when you order it.**
🏁How long will my PC take to build?
Because our systems are built to order, turnaround can vary depending on the system, component availability, custom work, and current build volume.
If timing is important, **contact the Pit Crew before ordering and ask about the current build schedule.**
We'd rather give you realistic expectations than promise a finish line we can't guarantee.
🏁Do I need 32GB or 64GB of RAM?
For many gamers, **32GB is an excellent starting point**.
64GB can make sense for customers doing heavier multitasking, content creation, video editing, streaming workloads, simulation applications, or those who simply want additional headroom.
PC Race Shop currently offers memory choices on applicable builds, including 32GB and 64GB configurations.
If you don't know which you need, ask us before spending the extra money.
🏁How much storage should I buy?
Think about more than the game you're playing today.
Modern games can consume a lot of storage, and things add up quickly when you start adding multiple games, racing software, replays, recordings, mods, applications, and other files.
Applicable PC Race Shop systems currently offer multiple storage options, including **1TB, 2TB, and 4TB configurations**.
If you maintain a large game library or record gameplay, stepping up your storage may save you from managing space later.
🏁Can my PC be upgraded later?
One of the great advantages of a desktop gaming PC is its ability to evolve.
Depending on your system and the component involved, things such as memory, storage, graphics hardware, cooling, and other components may be upgradeable in the future.
If future upgrades are important to you, tell the Pit Crew when you're choosing your system so we can take that goal into consideration.
🏁Should I spend more money on the processor or graphics card?
It depends entirely on what you're doing with the computer.
Different games and applications place different demands on the CPU and GPU. Monitor resolution, VR, streaming, simulation software, and multitasking can change the equation too.
That's why we would rather ask **how you're going to use the computer** than simply tell every customer to buy the most expensive component.
🏁Does my PC come with Windows?
Applicable PC Race Shop gaming systems list Windows as part of their configuration, including systems currently offered with Windows 11 Pro.
Check the individual product listing for the operating system included with the specific system you're purchasing.
🏁Will I have to build the PC when it arrives?
No.
You're buying a completed PC—not a pile of parts and a Saturday afternoon project.
We'll handle the build. You handle the gaming.
🏁Do I still need to buy a monitor, keyboard, mouse, or racing equipment?
Unless specifically included in a product listing or package, your gaming PC and your peripherals should be considered separate parts of your setup.
If you're building an entirely new gaming or sim-racing setup, tell us what equipment you already own and what you're still shopping for.
That can also help us recommend the correct PC.
🏁Can PC Race Shop build something that isn't listed on the website?
Absolutely.
Our website gives you several starting points, but sometimes the perfect PC doesn't fit neatly into a product listing.
If you have specific requirements, a particular budget, unusual hardware needs, or simply want something different, **contact our Pit Crew**.
We'll work with you to engineer the right machine for your needs.
🏁Can I customize the appearance of my computer?
Yes.
Performance matters—but there's nothing wrong with wanting your computer to look incredible too.
PC Race Shop offers customization options including **custom etched-glass cases** on applicable builds.
If you have an idea for your PC, talk to the Pit Crew.
🏁Can you put my gamer tag, racing team, business, or logo on my PC?
Contact us with your idea.
Our custom etched-glass option creates opportunities to turn your computer into something that's uniquely yours.
Whether you're building a racing rig, gaming station, team computer, business system, or simply want your battlestation to stand out, **let's talk about it before your build begins.**
🏁Why PC Race Shop?
Why should I buy from PC Race Shop instead of building a PC myself?
Building your own PC can be rewarding, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
But not everyone wants to research component compatibility, assemble hardware, configure a new system, troubleshoot problems, or spend hours figuring out which components make sense together.
With PC Race Shop, **you tell us where you want to go and our Pit Crew helps get the machine ready for the race.**
You get the fun part.
🏁Why should I choose PC Race Shop instead of a big-box gaming PC?
We're not trying to be a warehouse full of identical boxes.
PC Race Shop is built around helping customers find a system appropriate for the way they actually game.
Need help deciding? Talk to us.
Have an unusual setup? Talk to us.
Want a custom system? Talk to us.
Want to tell us your games, monitor configuration, and budget and simply ask, **"What should I buy?"**
Talk to us.
**That's the difference a Pit Crew can make.**
🏁Are PC Race Shop computers only for racing games?
Not at all.
We love racing, and it's part of who we are, but our gaming PCs can be configured for a wide range of PC games and applications.
Whether your library includes racing, shooters, MMOs, strategy games, flight simulation, streaming, content creation, or a little bit of everything, tell us what you play and we'll help point you toward the appropriate machine.
🏁What's a Race-Ready Build?
Our Race-Ready systems are designed for customers who don't want to spend their time deciding between endless component combinations.
They're configured around a defined performance package so you can choose a machine, get racing, and spend less time worrying about the parts list. PC Race Shop currently features Race-Ready models alongside the Sprint, Speedway, and Lap collections.
**Less time shopping for parts. More time playing.**
